Unai Emery outlines his masterplan to fix Arsenal's defensive problems
Unai Emery has revealed that he has a "strong idea" to help his Arsenal side build on their unbeaten run.
The Spaniard is confident that if they can conquer it they will be able to make the Arsenal fans proud of their club.
He has said that he wants his team to aim to always play with the same spirit and fight as they did in the north London derby, in the hope that the fans will return the good feelings to the players.
But he says his side must work on one particular area if they are to be able to achieve that.
He said: "We’re working for the fans so they can be happy with us and can be proud with our work, with our victory, with our draw, and also with when we lose they can feel proud for our work.
“But every day we need to create this spirit and we need to create one idea, one new feeling and Saturday I want to give them the same energy and connect with them and if we will do that they will come back with the spirit and the energy also.”
Emery believes he knows how to foster that spirit among his players and what one thing they should be working towards to create that energy.
Despite being 20 games unbeaten the quick goals scored by Manchester United showcase where Arsenal have been struggling defensively and Emery admits that his side are conceding more goals than they would like, however his strategy for fixing this is not as simplistic as just improving the defence.
He has said that he wants to see his team control games more than they currently do, both in and out of possession.
“First we want to create one idea, a strong idea,” he added, “with good positioning on the pitch and with the ball have a good combination between us so we can dominate the match.
“But we know the opposition also they want to do the same and so without the ball we need to not concede a lot of metres and keep the opposition team further away from our box with the ball.
“But our challenge is improving this because we are conceding more goals than we want, our balance is positive, but we can improve that.
